BD Live

Last night I hooked up the Panny Blu Ray player to the internet and updated the firmware. I also tried using the BD Live feature. It's kind of cool, but slow to load up and still kind of buggy if you ask me.
There is a big delay while extra content is downloaded from the internet connection to the BD player. it's cool in that you can watch movie trailers for upcoming movies.. most of which you could easily find on the internet anyways.
a few other features like an interactive live question and answer sessions for the director of Dark Knight - Christopher Nolan is set for Dec 18th. I should try and log in and see if it works. I think BD Live has a long ways to go though.

Yep Danger I agree. I tried the BD Live and in all decided it a waste of time. I just really want to watch my movie and relax, nothing extra needed if the movie is good.My Main Gear

So far its all just stuff they could have put on the disc to begin with... but now Dark Knight has chat rooms while watching. That's kind of interesting but I have no interest in ever using it. Waste of effort so far.My Iron Man training/charity blog.

I read somewhere that you can video tape a message using a web cam and your friend can watch it while watching a Blu Ray movie? seems odd, but whateva.
I think BD Live is just a gimmick, and a poor one at that. Basically anything they offer seems to be what didn't fit on the disc... very minor extras.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I've been wondering what the general opinion was for BD Live. It's a cool concept, but I don't think I'd be using it a whole lot myself. The only reason I'd get a Blu-ray player really would be to watch movies in high def. If it has BD Live anyway though I suppose I'd check it out.
It that a standard feature on BD players now or is a feature reserved for higher end players? The nirvana inducer-

I'm getting my 1st BR player tomorrow--I am only concerned with BR Hidef playback (I already have a couple HD-DVD players and a library of discs), and some of the extras on the disc. But my biggest hope is that its not extremely slow to load. I just can't stand waiting for the HD-DVD players-What the heck??
The one I am getting Sony something 350 had BD Live. Sure I'll check it out, but I doubt its something I'll use much.____________________

The S350 should load pretty fast, if not the Panny BD30/35/55 will surely handle that concern.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!
