Monitor 30's in Cherry

I'm about to purchase a speaker system for home theatre.

I'd like to be able to find Monitor 30's for surr/rear. While the black and maple finishes are easy to find, I'd like a matching look and all to be cherry.

If I can find the 30's in Cherry I'd get;

4 x Monitor 30 ($100/pr?)
2 x Monitor 50 ($200)
CS10 ($150)
PSW10 ($100)
$450 + 4 x whatever the 30's cost - probably ~$650 for 7.1

If not,
2 x TSI 100 ($200)
2 x TSI 300 ($400)
CS10 ($150)
PSW10 ($100)
$850 shipped for 5.1

From what I can gather, the LSI's and Monitors are very similar in performance.

So can anyone suggest an online store with the Monitor 30's in Cherry?

Welcome to Polk. For starters the TSI and the monitors are comparable in performance. Also the CS10 is for the TSI seriers, I would look for a CS1 or 2. The both can be had these on polk direct for under a hundred each. I was told by polk customer service that the TSI and Monitor are about the same in performance and sound quality. Being that the TSI took the place of the monitors I would think you could use the TSI 100 in cherry as the rears if you cant find the monitor 30's in cherry. IT is a discontinued product so you may not find the monitors. Hope this helps. :D

    Thanks for your reply RDB

I searched a little more and decided to go with an all TSi series. 2x300's, 2x100's, CS10 and PSW110 - all in Cherry. I added an Onkyo 606 as well for a very reasonable $1170 shipped. I'll add a rear set of 100's at a later date.

I live in a log home and aesthetics count where wood tones are involved so only the Cherry was a good fit.

    Thanks again for your advice.

You should be very happy with that setup. I recently bought a 606 myself, and it's a damn good receiver. It doesn't pack in a lot of the really high end features that some of the other Onk's have, but for the money it's basically the best deal on the market as far as receivers go.

You'll be better off with the TSi's than the Monitors too. They are essentially the same speakers, but the TSi's drivers are constructed of a slightly different material IIRC. I like the way the TSi series looks a bit more too. I'm not to huge of a fan of the silver faces on the Monitors. I like the cherry wood face the TSi's have way more.

Who needs to hide wires? Exposed wires just adds to the rustic look!

I love the look of wires running in 90 different directions all over my living room, it makes me feel like I've achieved something significant...lol
