Or if it does exist, educate me:

Some kind of device that lets you find your car in a very large parking lot

We're at Six Flags yesterday and had to part waaaay out. I didn't pay much attention to where we parked, though I should have. When we got out it was past ten oclock, and was dark, and it took us like 30 minutes to find our car. Again that's my fault for not paying attention to where I parked, but stil...

So wouldn't it be neat if you had some kind of tracker or locater that you could use to find your car? They can get GPS signals down to a couple meters now, so why not use that technology?

Just give me a small receiver that fits on my keychain or whatever, and just uses an arrow to point me towards my car.

I'm sure there are technological hurdles, but 40 years ago we had the technology to fake the moon landings :D, you'd think this would be possible.

I did some searching around and couldn't find anything, let me know if I'm missing it.

The 7xx and newer Garmin Nuvi GPS units have a feature that will log your location when you remove the unit from the cradle.
    From Garmin:
" It automatically marks your position when you remove it from the windshield mount, so you can navigate with nüvi on foot and find your way back to your vehicle. Perfect for unfamiliar spots and crowded lots such as amusement parks, stadiums and malls. "
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

What about just hitting the panic button on your car alarm key pad?

I've taken to taking a picture of my spot and surrounding area (any number / letter / color markers) with my cameraphone w hen I park. Very helpful.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

It was and funny too. Make sure you use the washroom before starting the search.

I get in the habit of picking a visual image, like an entrance, building sign....
In large parkades I remember or write down the location - Floor 7, spot L213.

I hate when that happens. And its not just the stress about not being able to find your car, but wether or not it was stolen.

I like the GPS idea, but I doubt I'd want to carry a GPS around an amusement park.

Right now I just use my remote to honk the horn/blink the lights, or even remote start it, but the remote is very limited in range so I have to be fairly close, but that helps at least to know wether you in the right area or not.

I like to just use my phone. I either use the recording feature and record what row and space I was in, or record my position with the gps (once again built into the phone).

I'll have to check my phone's gps and see if it has the record location feature, that's a goo idea.

I don't really need a phone or whatever to record my row or lot location, I just should have looked at that to begin with - if I can't remember section b row 24 then I probably shouldn't be driving.

Get an aftermarket alarm with a high range, then hit the panic button. Mine works about a half mile away in a parking lot...and its made by the same company who owns Polk!
