SDA-SRS 2.3 near Chicago (Barrington)http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/953855817.html. JFYI this is what I paid for my 2.3tl's but for sum reason even with this economy these get good money in the midwest.

He just sent me some pictures of the speakers and they look to be in pretty good shape.
He also has some sda 1 speakers.

Not sure he only sent pictures of the back and fronts with the grills on. Emailed him back on specific model and pictures with the grills off.

He also sent me a email stating he'll take $800 and I didn't even ask about the price yet. He may go even lower.

A quick question how much should they actually go for then for the non TL version?

How would they hold up against a set of JBL L150 VS the 2.3? ( NON TL )

Sorry to jump in on this potic. I was looking at a set myself.

I got them. Not a scratch on them. They bought them new and they sat. They were driven with a nakamichi amp that weighed in over 60 lbs!!

They did have the connect cable also! They are not the TL.

Nice family. They are going with a smaller home theater setup.

I have been in contact with them since Firday on the speakers. They also have some TV's they would like to sell.

They do look nice next to my carver amazings lol.

Thanks for the congrats. Now I just need to update the tweeters. They do sound good but next to my carver amazings, the high end does come up short.

    First, welcome to the group!

That's a nice set of speakers and it's always great to get a pair from the origininal owner as you get the whole picture of how they've been cared for.

I had been wanting a pair of 2.3's or 2's and settled on some 2's (from the original owner also) about a month ago as no 2.3's seemed to be available at the time. Several 2.3's have been offered since from 800 to just over $1,000. I know members here in the past have purchased for less.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 2's (as well as 2B's I purchased new in 1987) and this group has saved me countless hours when I have had questions about the process.

The tweeter upgrade will cost 6 X $48 from Polk (discounted from $60 ea. when you tell them you are Club Polk member) and you will need to determine if you want/need to upgrade your crossovers.

Have you also gently pushed in on each passive radiator and watched the 6.5 drivers? Each should extend out and slowly recede (2-3 seconds perhaps) as you keep gentle pressure on the passive. A scratchy sound or no movement at all indicates a magnet has shiffted and that is quite common occurrence when moving these behemouths without removing the drivers.

Congrats on the 2.3s. You'll soon find, with the right gear and placement, they'll blow the JBLs away, and I'm not knocking JBL, as they have made some awesome speaksers in the past and still do in some of their lines.
