Which speakers

I am looking for some suggestions on a speaker setup. This is for my parents family room. I finally was able to get them to get rid of the 27" tv and go with a 42" plasma. They want to change the speakers and go with something smaller. I am looking for some options to go with. They just want to go with a stereo setup, but I am looking to get them into a 5.1 setup. The one that I was looking at was the RM7's with a small sub. I have never heard them but my setup is all polk and I like the sound. These speakers are the size that she wants. Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    you might want to consider a SurroundBar 360 + the subwoofer.. trust me, that system is very impressive. with the least amount of hassle. no speaker wires to hide, no mess, no fuss, just great surround sound. ;)

    They want speakers mostly just to have music on with the occasional movie. Would the bar sound ok for music or not really? Its not as though they have it cranked but just mostly for background music for parties and such.
