TVersity and PS3

I've just installed TVersity and set it up, but my PS3 can't see it. I've been using just WMP to stream files to my PS3 and it's worked fine, but decided to switch to TVersity and now the PS3 isn't even seeing the server.
Anything easy to being with in terms of troubleshooting?

Note, the application says that it's sharing, and when I try to search for a server on the PS3 it doesn't find anything...

or if anyone knows of any other way I can stream dvd movies to my PS3 that'll work too...

Do you have any firewalls running on your PC? I haven't used TVersity in a while but I think you can be sharing media but you need to make sure the server/service is running as well.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //

So I've spent the last 4 hours working on this, and don't think it's gonna happen for me. Here's where I'm at:
Everything is set up correctly on my PC. If I leave my PS3 on for a while it will eventually locate and connect to TVersity. Once it does, everything works great, until I turn it off again. I've tested this several times, and I'm not doing anything to make it connect, it just takes forever...
The PS3 in general seems to be **** with my Linsys router. Sometimes after searching for a server my router locks up for a few minutes and I can't even access the internet on my PC.
All in all, not a good overall experience. It looks like I'll have to either go back to just using Windows Media Server, or maybe it's time to look into building a HTPC and ditch the PS3 altogether... -
I'm using TVersity with my PS3 and have had no trouble at all. Sounds like the modem is the culprit. Is there a possible firmware upgrade to the linksys modem? Or you could spend a few bucks and get a different modem.I'm on DSL and using a Siemens Gigaset SE-567. Every now and then it bogs down and a reset fixes it. Does the PS3 hook up to the modem for other tasks like online gaming or internet through PS3 etc? I've streamed divX movies, music, and photos but haven't tried DVD movies yet. I didn't even know it had that capability. Are you trying to stream the movie off your hard drive or playing it in your computer dvd drive and streaming to PS3?SDA-1C (full mods)

Make sure you have the latest firmware installed for your router. I seem to remember having to open a particular port(s) for things to work.
Tversity's site has a pretty good troubleshooting section.
Sorry I can't be more help, but it's been a while since I set it up, and details are a bit sketchy.........middle age kicking in hard.:D -
It's not a modem problem, the PS3 is only having a problem connecting to the media server, internet connection is just fine.
I'll look at updating my router's firmware, it's the Linksys WRT54G... -
Sorry I meant router not modem. Mine is all in one.SDA-1C (full mods)

I just realized I never followed up on this thread, I did update my router's firmware and that resolved all the issues I was having, thanks

Thanks for remembering to reply. I have a problem with my PS3 and my buffalo linkstation live. Buffalo updated their firmware, but it still didn't work. Now I realize I did make network changes since the last time it worked, so I will try that.Denon AVR-3803
