Hi,

Hope you can help me. We currently have a system in place that has 4 speakers. The speakers are split, they can be run with only the front pair or back pair dependant how the switch is set on the amp. This is system is not quite old and im looking for a new piece of kit that can do the same thing but a bit newer and not too expensive.

Can you through me some suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention the speakers can also be set so all run at the same time.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

    What's your budget?
What is your inteded use of the system? Home Theater? Music (HiFi)? Background Music? Porch and Deck outdoor music?
What do you have now? (amp/speakers, etc)

Without knowing what you need, and basing it from what you already said and assuming that is the way you want to keep it setup. An AVR or integrated amp with A/B speaker out options or even Zones might fit the bill. Or you could even get a speaker switch to supplement something that doesn't have A/B or zones. But I'm guessing you want something better.

Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply.

Its to go into a meeting room that splits into 2 and theres 2 speakers in each room. Its got to have at least 2 phono inputs for a tv and a pc. The current system is a sony system that has an a/b speaker output. I dont really have a budgt to mind, to find something that does the trick and ill pay for it but i dont want to have spend loads for something spectacular, its not going to be seen and its only going to be running the odd powerpoint presentation and maybe a few dvd's or tv.

    Hope this helps.

I would get a decent 2 channel amp, and get an Adcom speaker selector so you can choose both, or either set. Look for an Adcom GFA-535, or 545 in the used market. These are great little amps, and can be had for $200 or less.
