In Wall Center
Working around fireplace for center channel and need adv.
Have Flatscreen mounted about 1 ft above fireplace ... and can either work above or below tv for center channel.
Have somewhat decided on Monitor 70's front for front and M10's or 30's for surround in 5.1 system. Wanted CS2...esp. at such at a bargain price (under $100) but now realize its not made for wall mount.
Can anyone suggest an in wall center ..or alt. plan that gives me a strong center ...at hopefully under $200 ...that obviously matches up with the Monitors.

Going to need more details about the fireplace.....is it brick? Drywall? Gas, Wood? Is there a mantle?Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

Fireplace is self-contained gas with glass coverage...no mantle and seldom if ever used since its the plug and play variety that comes with new construction.
This particular wall has plenty of depth behind it if I do end up having to go with an in wall Center channel.
thanks for response..anxious to get your feedback. -
Personally I would stick with the CS2 as it's voice matched, etc. However, I would double check with Eric Wong (Polk CS) about in-wall applications.
Others can chime in regarding a mounting bracket that would hold the CS2 no problem.Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

An in-wall center would fine, or you could build a cavity above/below the television and mount the CS2 in the hole. Or something like this would work underneath the tv: http://www.jr.com/bt15-center-channel-speaker-bracket/pe/BTH_BT15_hy_BK/Tschüss

We recommend that center mount frequently, it can support up to 33 lbs.
The best matching in-wall center would be a single RC65i or SC65.-Eric

noted...as a newbie I appreciate all the advice. While I'm on a roll ..and working on my theater degree let me ask another opinion.
2 days ago I was set on Monitor 70s, CS2, and M10's or 30's for surround.
But now for just a couple of hundred $ more I'm considering RTi8's; RTi'4 for surround or FXi3's (if I can find); and either CSi 3 or 5.
Is the difference substantial? I'm going to have to stop reading these posts or I'll be in the L series by Saturday. -
I really wouldn't recommend burying a speaker made to be freestanding in the wall. Especially with the rear firing port.

I didn't even look to see that the CS2 is rear firing. In that case, I would go with the brackets as well.noted...as a newbie I appreciate all the advice. While I'm on a roll ..and working on my theater degree let me ask another opinion.

I would go with the RT series and enjoy the better overall sound. Like you said, its not much more money....Tschüss
