Awesome! Nice link.
That's when Radio Shack actually did radio stuff. Cool. I was looking in the 1946 catalog and saw that they were selling Belden wire back then.____________________

Their catalog of just a couple of years ago had a lot more stuff in it.
Anymore, they are almost just another cellphone sales center.
They re-did all their stores, with over half the store set up
for cellphones. Good luck finding much in the way of most parts."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. Yeah, I have 3 near me, but only one that has the better selection of eletronic component parts. Argh WTF??
I don't know how RS is even still in business.
RS, CCity and BBuster should team up. Then you could get your movies, cell phones and (future of course) quality electronic components, NOS tubes, caps, etc. all in the same place. Come on that would have to make a bettre combo huh?____________________

Yeah, no kidding. I just needed a resistor between 50 and 500 ohm & they looked at me like I was insane. Mouser is where I get everything that's not audio-specialty these days.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Ahhhhh....memories. I eager awaited for each year's new catalog's arrival in the late summer.
I still have my Radio Shack free-battery card somewhere....not to mention my Reslistic Minimus 7. -
The stereo system that I 'grew up' with is all contained in the 1981 catalog.
STA-2080 receiver (I wish I still had this one, 80wpc, large knobs, great tuner)
LAB-420 turntable
Optimus 10 speakers (the weak link of the system)
The 1986 catalog contains the receiver that my Mom had for years, and it is still kicking out in my garage, the STA-870, 65 wpc, easily handles 4 ohm speakers too.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -
uh oh, now the site has exceeded its bandwidth limit.......look what we did!
I worked for RS from '77-'82. DKL was around the corner, I bought a record clamp and ogled at Rogers and other cool stuff. In 2002 I got a Thorens 125 w/Rabco SL8E that had a DKL sticker. K= Ken S. I remember being a wee lad, 10 or 11 and I would look through every page and pick what I wanted from each page of the catalog.

It's called FRY'S.
Rat Shack is dead. I give it two years."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Thanks for that link! That really brings back some memories, as I practically had some of those catalogs memorized. The stuff I had mostly came out of the '83-'85 catalogs.

Yeah but Fry's is not everywhere.
I didn't know Fry's rented movies out.
Fry's sells tubes and caps?____________________
