I am trying to redo my HT system piece by piece and I have decided to go ith Polk for my 5.1 system. Last night I listened to the LSI300 in Best Buy and I was impressed. I have been looking at the Monitor 50 speakers on the Polk eBay store and I can get them shipped for less than $200. I have not heard these speakers. I can not find them in town anywhere.

I am happy with the sound of the LSI300. Is there much difference between the sound of them and the Monitor 50 speakers? I am trying to save as much money as possible right now, but I am scared about buying speakers unheard. I have thought that if I don't care for the Monitor 50 speakers for my fronts then I can later make them my rears.

Thoughts?

I run an all monitor setup 50's front, 40's surrounds, 30' rears(will hook them up when I have room for a 7.1). I absolutely love them. I cant speak on the TSI series, heard them in bestbuy once. I dont see much of a difference in specs and prices btw the two series. I can say that I enjoy the monitor series and you can get great deals on them from polk direct ebay store and newegg. got my 50's for 142 shipped to my door from polk direct and 40's 150 shipped to my door from new egg. So i would say go take a listen and see which ones u like the best.

I also have the Monitors (70's front and 40's rear) and I love them too. You can't find them in the stores because they are "last years model" and the TSi series "replaced" them for this years models. I got my 70's about 3 months ago clearanced, floor models from CC and got them cheap, but love them. You may have a hard time "auditioning" them since they are, like I said being replaced by the TSi series.

Coincidentally, I just opened my pair of Monitor 50's in cherry. If you are interested, they were purchased at Newegg.com for a clearance price of $189 total - free shipping too.

Either would be fine for your application.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

If you are interested polk direct has the cherry for 75 buy it now plus 20 shipping in cherry. Not bad. Crutchfield has the black cs2 for 99 plus shipping.
