...a straight? You gotta call, right? Even if the same guy has beaten you with a flush the previous times you've had a straight, right? That's it. just had to vent a little.

LOL! I remember watching 'High Stakes Poker' a couple of seasons ago, and Negraneau was getting REPEATEDLY sandbagged by flushes, 4/ kind, Full houses.
My condolences on your lossesI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Depends on who is in position and what is on the board. If there is a possible flush on the board and the guy goes all in. I would probably fold it if it meant all my chips. My Home Theater (WIP):

1.What game is it? 5 card draw -7 card draw- NL Texas holdem?
2. Is it the highest possible straight?
3. How many people are in the pot? and is at least 2 people and preferably someone with more chips than the guy originally going all in calling before you?
4. Is it for all your chips?
5. Does the person going all in bluff a lot? and is the other person calling before you call anything?
6. Is there 3 or 4 cards of the same suit on the table? assuming this is NL texas Holdem (4 cards of the same suit would increase the odds of more than one player having a flush)
Many factors weigh in to placing or calling a bet each situation is unique.
For example if I had the highest possible straight and 2 people bet before me and there was only 3 cards of the same suit on the table and it was 5th street and I had more chips than the original better and the second caller had more chips than the original better then I would raise the bet to double the orginal wager, the odds of both players having a flush is pretty small and even if you lost half the bet to the fellow with a flush you would break even with the re raise if the second caller of the original all in called you and you had a higher straight.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all
