Well I finally picked up a copy. Thanks for the recommendation ESAVINON. I tried to listen to it earlier, but the kids, and other noises killed it for me. I just sat down with only the fireplace making a slight hiss, and really had a chance to enjoy it. This CD was recorded in Qsound which kinda simulates SDA's pretty well. Add some SDA's into the mix, and it sounds great. At first I was sitting right against the back wall. The sound was stopping abruptly right at the rear corners. All I had to do is move just a foot forward to make it wrap around. The sound effects of Roger Waters Amused to Death are more pronounced. With Soul Cages it is subtle. It adds quite a bit of ambiance to the music. I am glad Sting actually cares about how his music sounds, and it isn't some compressed crap that makes you want to use the CD as a coaster. The Qsound in this recording is very fun, and is a great CD to mess with people on your 2 channel rig. I am definitely happy to have it, but I don't think it will be on the top 10 of my list to listen to frequently. I never really got into I am in the middle of the music thing. That is why I like the sound stage of the later generation SDA's. It is more defined, and realistic. I am not a big fan of most multi channel SACD's either. Final thoughts. Get it. It is fun. The only track I skip is track 8.

I'm glad you like the recording. This is sting's darkest recording. He had lost his mother to cancer and then his father. This is why this recording's so depressing.
I have plenty of recommendations if you tell me what type of music you like.

Well I was looking to get my first Sarah Brightman CD. I heard her over at Early's house, and figured I should put her on my short list:) I hope she doesn't end up being like Snora Jones with 90 songs that sound the same:eek: I wish I had a traditional set of speakers to try out Soul Cages on. This, and Roger Waters ATD are must have CD's for anyone.
    Thanks

If you like Roger Waters you should get The Pro's and Cons to Hitchiking.
No Q sound but it's still a great Blues based Recording.
Eric Clapton plays a mean guitar on this one.

Actually I like a lot of Floyd. If it wasn't for the Qsound I wouldn't listen to most of the Album. The SQ is great, and he is a lyricist, but some of his stuff offends me. Clapton is a good idea. I do like his blues stuff. I don't know how well Crossroads is recorded, but he is awesome in that. I have turned from heavy metal to jazzy female vocalist, and I joy 70's stuff like Linda Ronstadt. I have a bunch of her vinyl I scored at goodwill:)
