Amp question

Just drove 3 hours to pick up a amp. The guy was selling it for a friend who claimed it worked. The guy I was dealing with had no way of testing it so I figured I would bring a speak and some speaker cables along to listen for a hiss since he had no source to hook it up to.
I arrived after a hour of getting lost and when I did the hiss test in both channels only the left channel created the hiss sound. So I figured the right channel was blown and I past on the amp.
My question is was my assumption right. If no hiss was coming from the right channel it had to have been blown.
Thanks.

Depending on the amp and the price you could have bargained him down and then get the amp fixed, assuming of course that it is an amp worth fixing.
It does sound like one channel was dead.

Joe
He was selling it for his friend so he wouldn't bargain any. Wasn't worth getting fixed IMO. The amp was for my father for christmas along with some bookshelf speakers I got him. Anytime he comes over he brings a cd and beer and tries to have a jammin session. So I figured I would get him a pair of LSI 's and a small decent amp. The amp was Adcom 545II and the guy wanted $100. The ride was only suppose to be 35 minutes each way, but with me getting lost and my cell battery died it turned into almost 3 hours.

Ya know if you have an iPod and an 1/8" mini to RCA wire, you can connect it directly to the amp-you just have to make sure you start the volume real low. A nice portable test source.____________________

I've tried that with my I-Phone and for some reason even with the I-Phone turned all the way down It plays at full volume. -

The thing that messed me up was on my navigation in my car I kept putting Green Bay Ave.
Come to find out they have a Greenbay Ave. and a Green Bay ave. -
