polk RTI A7's or A9's
i went to a dealer who have both of them the a7's and a9's i listen to them both thinking that the the a9's will sound similar to the a7's just a heavier bottom, to my amazement the 7's sounded a bit not open and clearer as the 9's is there different crossovers in them? i love how the 9's when played when listening at low low volume, i would love the 7's because the 9's are very HUGE is there any adjustments can be done on the 7's to make it sound the same way as the 9's i already have a outlaws top of the line sub so i dont need the bass, or is there a bookshelve model that will do the same justice if i just add the subwoofer, ps i dont want to go back at the store again to demo they may think im crazy spent like 20-30 mins listening i know the guy salesman thought i was gonna purchase right there and THEN

I have a pair of A7's and they open up a little more as they break in. At one year old now they sound fantastic. Because the A9's have 3 bass drivers and 2 mid drivers they will definatley sound fuller on the bottom and slightly better mids. However I have absolutely no complaints about the A7's. They have exceeded all expectations. The bass goes way down deep but is very articulate (controlled not boomy). If your listening room is large and you have a high power amp/receiver go for the A9's. In a smaller room the A7's will do great. Both benefit from clean high current wattage. The A7's sound really good on my Pioneer Elite AVR (110 wpc) but they sound phenomonal on my two channel Carver amp (225 wpc). Oh and who cares what the salesman thinks, you are laying out a lot of cash. Demo until you are happy with your decision is my opinion.SDA-1C (full mods)

The 1 mid driver in the RTI A7 is the difference . I had both in house and thought the mids on the 7's were under par. The one driver in the 7's don't open up until higher volumes. Also the bright tweeter over powered the one mid driver in the 7's. I ended up going with the A5's and a9's. I would go with the 9's if I were you, all around better speaker.
Don't over look the A5's either. With a sub sounds great. -
