You say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too--yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you.

Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party
Yes we're going to a party party.

I would like you to dance--Birthday
Take a cha-cha-cha-chance-Birthday
I would like you to dance--Birthday
Dance

You say it's your birthday
Well it's my birthday too--yeah
You say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

I hit the double nickels today.

So I decided to skip work (I still have 14 days of vaction I need to take or lose by year-end...like that is going to happen )

I got up around 7:00 and headed to the Smokey Mountains and hiked about 9 miles on the Appalachian Trail from Newfound Gap to the Jumpoff and on to Charlies Bunion and back. No snow but it was about 23° when I got started.

When finished I headed back to Knoxville and met my family for lunch at Wok Hay for some Asian food. Sesame Chicken for me. Family gave me a couple of gifts...a CD from one daughter, a DVD from the other and my wife game me a pair of tickets to the Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden concert in Thompson Boling Arena on January 20th. I'm pumped!

They had to go back to work and I headed back to the mountains...this time to make a few runs on the Tail of The Dragon (311 curves in 11 miles).

Got home just a little while ago and had a piece of my German Chocolate Birthday cake. Then I turned on the 2 channel rig. Just got through listening to Robinella (Contreras) "Solace for the Lonely" on the CDP (Damn she has a great voice!) and now I just put Joe Walsh, "But Seriously, Folks..." (Rhino Remaster) in the CDP. I know by heart the last song is....

"Lifes Been Good" (To Me So Far)...and yes...it has!

    Happy B-day Shackdaddy!!!!!
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

OLD MAN???? The way I have it figured, I'm just now hitting middle age. It's time for my middle age crisis. I think I'll go get a sport bike...and start chasing young women....

Considering the whole thing is 2,175 miles...I managed about .4% yesterday. I am shooting to do a 100 mile section across the top of the Smokeys in the next year or two. I'm not ready for that yet. I figure that will take 5-6 days because of the severe elevation changes (as much as 6,000 ft. ±)

That's what I figure. My goal is to live long enough to become a real burden on my children. I owe them that much. ;)

    Thanks again guys.
