To be completely honest, Lars in all honesty is just an okay drummer. Does he fit Metallica? Yes. Can he play outside his box? No!
You go out and watch this guy and you will be just blown away at what he can do. He can play circles around Lars with one just arm. -

This really needs a stereo to fully appreciate. Very much worth it. It's one of those songs that's simultaneously hard driving and so ridiculously cool in delivery that some bits of it almost seem to step back and relax, and still keep time.
Some may recognize the track title - Let The Day Begin - originally performed in the 80s by Michael Been with his band, The Call. Been's son cofounded BRMC with one of his high school friends. Great band, worth the deep dive if you like this.

Relatively simple solution to a a very significant problem. Everybody should be using these - I wonder how big their sales are? I think I've seen them used on something I worked on, but damn this old age memory loss.
P.S. I want a socket driver as YUGE as the one he's using in the video - no more gas pipe tommy bars. -
