Denon Receiver + Amp

Now that my RTA11TL project is complete (for now) I am planning my future upgrades. My Denon receiver has an internal amplifier rated at 90 watts/ch. However since it has pre-outs and I was thinking that I could add a better quality external amplifier to drive the RTA's.

Would this be a worth while upgrade or would it be putting diamonds on a...(well you know)? I am not really into high SPL but more for SQ. I welcome suggestions for a not outrageously expensive amp?

Thanks in advance
Stan

years back I ran a vintage Denon PMA 900 on a set of RTA11TL's and it was a great combination.

Thanks for the suggestions. These vintage models may just fit the $ too.

I just have to say that the Denon AVC-3030 was a sweet unit. Not what you are looking for, but sometimes I wish I still had mine. Sounded too good...
