If you have a H/K receiver (3480) and RTi10's
Would you either:
a) Chuck the RTi10's in the trash, keep the HK, and buy LSi9's
b) Chuck the HK receiver in the trash, keep the RTi10's, buy an Emotiva XPA-2

Always go for better speakers.

Keep the HK-3480 and add some SDA's.
-
Throw the 10's in the garbage. Then give me your address.

If your H/K has pre-outs throw some power to those 10s then decide. Even if you went with SDAs you will need power. A friend has 10s and they really woke up when he put some power to them.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs -
HT or 2 Channel? If HT more power, if 2 channel, better sounding speakers (in your opinion) have always provided me with the most significant and obvious improvement to me.
Won't you need the H/K if you get an XPA2?

Get the Lsi9's. You won't be disappointed.
I have the HK3490 which I think is just a newer model than yours. Driving a pair of Lsi9's and it sounds fabulous!!
People say receivers don't have enough power to push LSi's. Well. This one does IMO. I have had my LSi9's powered with separates and the HK defiantly holds its own in the power department......

2-channel, thus the posting here in 2-channel-audio board.
I have some options for pre-amp ... or the H/K will work too. -

Hey, I was just in Indiana a month ago. Evansville for a few days, and a day in Bloomington visiting IU. -
If you're into 2-channel, then both the H/K and 10's need to go. But if you can't do both at the same time, go with option b and get rid of the 10's ASAP.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I would opt for LSi's also."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I'm running a 3485 and Lsi9's in a small bedroom/office (10x10). I vote for the 9's.
