I'm in the process of finishing up my installation(sr6500's Bi-Amped, SR124DVC, PA500.4 and PA1200.1), just tweaking now.
I'm going to help my aunt out and put a stereo in her car, I'm thinking a PA500.4 in 3 channel mode, sr5250's up front and db104 in the back, she absolutely LOVED how my system sounds but her budget only allows for one amp most likely, will the PA500.4 provide a nice quality bass response with 250 watts going to the DB sub?
Also, I need a nice simply head unit, I was thinking an entry level alpine but I don't know how simple they are to operate, simple is important here!
PS. WTB, sr5250's, db104, PA500.4, sub box, wiring etc.

I think 250 watts to a DB 10 would be ok so long as she doesnt care about a whole lot of bass. This will add good, musical bass to her system but will never shake the rear view mirror off.

Id go to Circuit City and Best Buy and play around with some of the entry level head units they have on display and find the one you think would be easiest for her to operate. At the entry level price point, there isnt going to be much of a difference between the name brands.

what would you suggest as a sub/amp/front amp setup that would provide a little more than just low end, nothing crazy but like I said she loved mine and it shakes a bit but definately musical.

Get the Polk 5 channel amp. Much more power for the sub.

That would be a great solution but too pricey, would the DB sub be able to produce more bass with a more powerful amp? How much power can it handle, its only rated at 270watts I believe? Maybe a future upgrade by adding another amp would be a possibility, what would my best choice of a sub be for adding an additional amp be, maybe a momo series, how much power can they handle over rated RMS?
Also considering the momo components, do they produce nice sound quality? I have no doubt the SR’s are MUCH better but are the Momos a cheaper version of the same sound type/style?

Also, does the pa500.4 have the ability to run in both 2 and 4 ohm modes in any configuration? I know it can't run the 3rd channel in 2 ohms while the 2 front channels are in 4 ohms but can it run 2 channels @ 2 ohms and 2 channels @ 4 ohms? Would there even be a speaker configuration that would work this way, the 2 ohm channels running one Dual Voice Coil sub?
