Transporter 3

Went to see this yesterday and really liked it. It was much better than the 2nd one and I think I even like it better than the first one.

Within the first 5 minutes of the film, Statham is whipping 5 dudes asses with ease but after, of course, removing his jacket so I figured, hell this is going to be pretty good and I was right.

Unlike the other 2, most of the movie is in the car which is very cool. Its the same beautiful Audi that was in the last one. I think its an Audi A8W12 but Im not 100% as Im not an Audi expert - but I may become one after this film.

There is a lot of good action but I wouldnt call it "action packed" as there are several "slower" places in the movie - still there is enough to keep most action fans happy. There is also a lot of places where youre going "Yeah! Right!" so dont expect a lot of realism in the action scenes but so long as youre not a stickler for believability in your action flicks you wont mind.

The cool and unique thing about this movie was the chick. She's a Russian chick, with a ton of freckles and a cool accent. When shes first introduced I was thinking WTF? But by the end of the film, I was a fan and found she added a very cool "flavor" to the film and the film woulndt have been as good without her.

The story is ok. Nothing youd mistake for a Scorsese storyline but easy to follow and works for this film.

Bottom line - this wont win any Oscars but if you liked the first 2 films you will definitely like this one. A lot of action, plenty of great fight scenes, awesome cars, Jason Statham is the coolest, baddest **** in films today and a cool, freckled, Russian chick. Whats more could you want?! :D

8 out of 10 (without the Russian chick and the car - 7.5)

Every good movie has to have one or the other, a hot chick or car and if your lucky you'll get both

That was the thing that I liked about this chick. Shes not your typical hot chick. She would never be a "Bond girl" but a Bond girl wouldnt have worked in this film like this chick did. Its not so much that she was hot as she was just refreshingly different.

Glad to here you thought the movie was better than 2 which sucked. The first Transporter is a classic and I hope this one builds on the franchise. I'll wait to see it on DVD.

I don't often agree with Early on movies, but... I agree completely. The first Transporter is an awesome flick, the second one.... not so much.

Its my understanding that the chick was just some girl walking down the street, the director or producer saw her, liked her look, gave her some acting lessons and gave her a chance to win the part. Neat.

Is it necessary to see the second movie to make any sense out of the third? I've seen the first.

Nah. There is no carryover in the script other than Statham's character and the French cop he works with in the 1st is in this one as well but other than that, its all self contained.

The first half of the first Transporter was possibly one of the best movies ever. Then after they blew up his house it was like they ran out of ideas and everything just went flat. Kinda weird. The 2nd movie wasnt very good at all. Had some good fight scenes but the whole "yeah right" thing was way overboard even for me. I mean youre in a plain that is crashing into the ocean at about 300 mph but you survive by running towards the rear of the plane as it crashes?!?! So basically the writers ran out of ideas halfway thru the first one and it carried on thru the 2nd one. Thankfully they hired new writers for the third one.

As I did with the first two films, both of which I liked, a blind buy for me.

Just saw this last night. I was pretty entertained. I'd say it's as good as the second, maybe a little better. The chick in this one is just straight up hot. I'm not usually into freckly red heads, but this girl is WAY cute. Her eyes are unbelievable!

However, if they do a 4th I'd like to see them go back to a BMW.:D

I agree that the Audio is a classier car but I love BMW's and have since I was a kid. The day I win the lottery, my first stop is going to be the BMW dealer down the street. A 2009 M5, Silverstone Metallic, Portland Brown leather, Olive Ash wood trim and 6 speed manual. 500 horsepower - 17 mpg - pristine build quality - $89,000.

It's a average looking car at best, not worth $89,000. You could do SO much better. Build quality is one thing, just make sure you get a damn good, and long term warranty with it. Built well, but not built to last.

For about $20k more (or less) you're in a; GT-R, Aston Martin, Audi R8, Mercedes M Class, Viper. There's plenty to choose from in and around that $90k mark.

The BMW I owned for 18 months that was in and out of the shop 9 times for different issues turned me off to BMW's forever, I'll never buy another. Add to that I know of no one (friends / family) that has owned one and been happy with it. All sold their's off between 2 and 3 years of ownership due to too many trips to the repair shop. Way over priced POS cars as I see it. YMMV.

Really? The only option you mentioned that is anywhere near the same class is the MB, and I HIGHLY doubt that the Mercedes would spend any less time in the shop. I also find it amusing that you consider BMW "over priced POS cars" yet you suggest a Viper. Now that is comical.

I have a friend that is on her 3rd BMW 5 series. She has a 1.5 hour commute each day and put over 225,000 miles on her first two with no problems. She's on her 3rd now - a 2005 with 95,000 trouble free miles on it.

To each their own I reckon.

You asked for other cars in that price range so I posted a few. How all those other cars compare to BMW I don't have any personal experience with. I only can post about the cars I've had experience with and one was a BMW.

You dont' think an Audi R8 is in the same class as a BMW M5??

I love the M3 / M5, don't get me wrong, but that R8 is one sexy beast.

'Course, it's also about 40 grand more than the M5.

I think you kinda answered your own question, but no I wouldn't put them in the same class/category. The only BMW I would consider to be R8 competition would be the M6.

Boring. This franchise needs to end. The first Transporter was great for about 1/2 way through the film until the girl shows up but it's been a downhill slide since then.

I like Statham but man does he need a better series.

What a fun, enjoyable ride of a film. Equal to that of #1, if not even a bit better. The 7.1 DTS-HD MA track on this is amazing as is the PQ. Here's hoping we get a #4.
