I just purchased the H/K AVR-310 from OneCall for $369. I was wanting to get something a little bit nicer, but after paying for my college tuition, I was left with just under $500. I saw that the 310 was going for like $600 at CC, so I thought that $369 wasn't that bad.

Does anyone out there have this receiver, or another H/K similar to it? What do you think of it? Is it marked down because it's junk, or is it worth the money? This is my first A/V receiver, so I'm not really sure what to think. Any comments I could get about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello...

The net can be a great source of info and reviews for audio gear. Though what you read should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt.

I usually look on www.audioreview.com first, just follow the categories until you find what you're looking for, and you can read opinions posted by people happy or annoyed enough to post them.

Second, just feed the model number to a search engine (i'm a fan of Google). There's probably a bunch of stuff out on the web.

Third, which you did, post here and see who knows what. Unfortunately, I don't know about anything HK has made after 1988 or so.

this is my personal opinion.....i just purchased this receiver about a month ago and i pretty happy with it so far....no problems and it sounds a lot better than my jvc(sounds alot clearer...especially on my center channel) that i purchased last november. the receiver is high current and it built pretty well and the logic 7 is pretty cool when watching vhs movies or tv. I got it for 999.99 cdn...............

however, i guess the model is reduce because the 320 model is coming out soon and i guess they want to get rid of some older inventory....the new model is upped by 5watts per channel (no big deal)and it has the dolby 2, several more logic 7 functions, six/seven channel capable.....but i haven't seen a picture of it yet.

well, i hope this may give you a little insight....but there maybe other reasons......

    dc.

I have the HK110 and the RM6600's with a psw350. This receiver is so clean. It looks incredible and the sound is unreal. Especially in DTS. My receiver is 40 watts per channel and 50 in stereo. I have no problems with lack of power. When watching movies, I never have to put the volume past -24 or so. It does not break up when listening to music. It doesn't even get hot when I operate it for hours at a time. Hope this helps.
