Attn Jersey Polkies: Getting to Trenton from Baltimore

Alright guys, it's been a while since I've had to venture into New Jersey and could use some driving advice.

Saturday I'm taking my wife to a place called Grounds for Sculpture for her birthday. It's located off of 295S at exit 65B in Trenton. Their website has directions from Philly that seem pretty straightforward, basically taking 95N to 295S, a couple turns and I'm there. If I Google directions from my house, which is the NE corner of Baltimore and a couple minutes from I95, to Grounds for Sculpture they suggest taking 95N to the turnpike to Exit 4 and then a few different local roads to get to 295N.

Any thoughts? I'm not intimidated by the turnpike anymore, but is there much to gain by taking it and not 95N all the way up? One thing to keep in mind, my wife's navigating and she's not the best copilot out there, so a simpler route may be better. Thanks in advance.

I love The Turnpike Ben. It won't screw you, while all the other roads will. Turnpike to Exit 4 (Rte 73 NW).
You'll only be on 73 for a mile or so before you pick up 295N. Piece of cake.

You can even blow by Exit 4, and get off at Exit 7 (Rising Sun Road in Bordentown), and follow all the tractor trailers to 295N, cause that's where they all get off in order to avoid further northbound turnpike tollage.

6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. I'd feel comfortable with the Exit 4 to 295N thing though.

Personally, I'd just hit 295 north after the Delaware Memorial Bridge and cruise right on up. You aren't going to save much time taking the turnpike but you will lighten your wallet and truthfully, south of Exit 4, it really isn't all that much different from 295.

IF, you go 95 the whole way, be sure to use the Wilmington bypass, I think it's 295 Port of Wilm. or something like that. Much nicer than following 95 on the edge of Wilm. !!!! Be Safe :)
