I have a HK 500 running my system, but I have not tried it with the LSI series. What amp and speakers are you considering?

Schumach! How've you been? Long time, no hear from you. What I'm planning, is that I've been stockpiling Harman 2000 power amps off of ubid.com cheap. Now that I've got 7 of them, I plan to get an ensemble of LSis, 15s for mains, the center, and 2 pairs of Lsi f/xs for surrounds, and biamp each and every single speaker in the set with one of the Harman 2000 power amps, which would be 200 watts (@ 8 ohms that is, not sure how many at 4 ohms) of Harman power going into EACH speaker. Does that sound like a plan that might have some potential?
    Do you have LSis yet?

    bigsexy1,

Things are going great, thanks for asking. How is it going with you? What speaker set did you decide on (polk or infinity)? You will have plenty of power with the 2000's. My brother has the LSI 25, C and F/X and they sound awsome. He is driving them with a Denon 5803 with no problems.

I'm currently using an AVR7000 with a PA2000 to biamp the mains. Sound quality to me is exceptional, power is not even a concern.

ATC, I don't know what to say about you finding most of HK's products weak, except that I'm stunned. As far as their amps and reciever's power ratings go, they are rated VERY conservatively. They pretty much state the ACTUAL power of all channels driven, and not just one or two at a time. For example, 65 watts of Harman power will be more than 100 watts of say Denon power. Of course, what you yourself wrote about your HK receiver pretty much validates that. Not sure about their other products though, such as DVD/CD players, etc.

I will display my cluelessness by noting that I was told that HK has higher current, but lower wattage, than receivers in similar price ranges. I have no idea what this means or whether or not it's a good thing.

Harman Kardon's power is not even an issue at all in the first place, as anyone here who owns them can well attest to. I was just curious as to what other's opinions were on them as to how well they match up with Polk's particularly LSis. Is it as good a match as some people seem to feel that Denon/Polk are? For instance, I would never put Yamaha/Klipsch together.
