The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade has officially been Rick Rolled.
The float for Cartoon Network's "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends" seemed normal enough, with a group of muppet-esque characters singing a tune from the show. But the music abruptly scratched to a stop, and Rick Astley emerged on the float to perform "Never Gonna Give You Up."

Looked to me like he was lip syncing.
Anyone else see the same thing? -
either way, it's nice to see familiar face from the 80s.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

that was set up beforehand you could tell. but why is all I want to know, why, why, WHY dig up Rick Astly from 20 yrs ago? :mad:PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
Wow . . . that was painful. That's one of those career low points that lets a performer know his 15 minutes is gone.

Who the hell is Rick Astley??????????????????"The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

They always lip sync, his voice does not sound like that anymore
I doubt it sounded like that then either, without a little help in the studio. -
Lip Syncing or not (although it was), that was just pure awesome randomness. Seeing that clip just made me laugh. I love it!
P.S.
I think he knew is 15 minutes were up the year after that song fell off the charts. -

It's kind of an internet phenomenon thing (though it's a LITTLE past it's prime at this point). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling
SO yes the song is 20 years old and ridiculous, that's kinda the point. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

I don't know if you've ever seen a parade before, but everyone lip syncs so that it looks good and sounds good. You can image how impossible sound checks would be at every stop along the parade route...
