Time to part with this big monster. I just do not have the room in my small house.

More pics can be found on e-bay. You can find me there as talldude777.

I will sell it a bit cheaper to Club Polk members...$250

Local pick-up is the best option, but I can ship if you are really interested. I have the perfect crate at work to pack and ship LTL.
PM me for a Shipping Quote.

2 blemishes in the last 2 pics. Other than that it looks fantastic!

Let me know if you have any questions.

The previous owner said it had the Megawoofer upgrade, but I do not know for sure.
    Dims = 39" Tall x 21.5" Wide x 17" Deep

In other words...this thing is huge!

    Those are not megawoofers.

    Megawoofers look like this --

And the Larger/Tall Boy is a POWERHOUSE, an easy 100-110+ DB at 20hz, no issues

Thanks for the clarification Sid the Kid. My VMPS does not have the megawoofer upgrade.
It is a POWERHOUSE...my back can testify!

It is the same subwoofer as what you have Tom

You would have to upgrade the Woofs and PR though to match them

Where is the passive? Located on the bottom I take it......

Yes. 15" Passive. You can't see it because it is hidden inside and fires out of the slot on the bottom front. You can feel it if you stick your hand in the slot, or you can unscrew the bottom wooden base of the box.
I heard there is a way you can tune the passive to a certain Hz, but I do not know how to do that.

This is a killer sub. I had been looking for one of these for a while until I ran across a local VMPS 215 sub which is the baby brother to this one. Mine only has a 15" driver and 15" passive.:( Just add an amp and you're done. There's no better way to get very high quality, low cost subwooferage than VMPS.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I forgot to mention this is rated @ 4 ohms and also has a passive crossover. I think the crossover is around 85 Hz.
However, I heard they sound better if you use an electronic crossover.

Is there an LFE input on it? (i.e. - can you hook up to another set of terminals and bypass the internal crossover?)

No. It has two sets of speakers connections for each sub. (total of 4)
The 12" woofer has gold plated speaker inputs and regular high pass outputs.
The 15" woofer has gold plated speaker inputs and regular high pass outputs.
Hope that makes sense. It is technically a "stereo" sub in that you feed it a left and right channel.

    it is a passive subwoofer
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

Or if it's like mine, you can rewire it into a mono sub with 2 active and 1 passive. Yes, an active x-over does improve the performance of this sub and I can also attest to the sub's sonic qualities. I had an audio event recently and had the lowboy or regular version of this sub hooked up and the most frequently heard comment was "that's the best sub integration that I've ever heard, I can't even tell where it's coming from. How did you do it?". Of course the SMS-1 had a lot to do with it but no matter what lower frequency was needed and at what volume it was required to do....it delivered it accurately without even breaking a sweat.

I owned the PB10. It sucks. Looking at the specs alone and hearing other VMPS subs, the Tallboy would blow the SVS away.

SVS makes a mediocre sub that's good for breaking bones. The Tallboy is made for music and finesse. That being said, it could at least fracture a pelvis and bruise some ribs.

I miss my stereo largers sometime... :(

But, when you are capable of reproducing 120db at 20hz in a 10.5x10.5x8 room, you gotta move on eventually! :)

Congrats on the subpurchase, you will not be unhappy!
