Surrounds to go with my SDA II's

I'm interested in getting some surrounds to go with my SDA II's. Right now, I'm using some Realistic Minimus-7 bookshelves with custom DIY speaker mounts. The mounts are so strong you could probably get an attachment and post up a couch, so weight isn't an issue.:D

Price is though. I was going to get some Monitor 4's until the deal fell apart. Deals always seem to fall apart for me if it wasn't meant to be. Anyways, I was interested in maybe some Monitor 10's for surrounds. I was looking for something with similar characteristics as my SDA II's (two SL1000 tweeters, three mid-range drivers, 12" sub radiator). I want the panning and soundstage and detail to be up to par with my SDA's. I do know that I don't want true SDA's as surrounds as they are too big and the cancellation involved. I do want some vintage Polk Monitors though.

Also, if anybody has a really good deal on vintage amps that provide good, clean power for the SDA's and possibly the soon-to-be surrounds, that would be great. I couldn't care less in what condition the speakers are. As long as it is cheap and useable, I will go for it. And I know how that sounds- I am a cheapskate.:)

I also heard about Monitor 10 upgrades? Is that worth it and does it work? Recommendations for my SDA II's for cheap upgrades and tips would also be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the long post by the way.:p

Do you have the SDA SRS II's or Sda II's,,an upgrade to either would be the RDO replacement tweeter, but you'll need to put a $ on what you mean by cheap.The tweeters are 48.00 each.Polk used to have,and may still have a HT setup/voicing guide on the main webpage for matching vintage speakers in the HT environment. The SDA II's, not the SRS speakers. And by cheap, I mean less than $200 for the Monitor 10's, preferably less than $100.

Where are you? You most likely won't find monitor 10's for under $100. You may want to look for 5's, 7's, or an RTA of some sort.

This is a subjective question but which would be best for a small room for surrounds and a good match for my SDA II's. It seems that I can get the Monitor 5, 7, or 10 speakers so my options are pretty open.

5's are real good as surrounds due to their smaller cabs.
