bi-amping MMC6500's

I have a question about bi-amping my Polk Momo MMC 6500 component set. Right now I am powering them with a 2-channel Pioneer amp pushing 125 watts to each. My question is how much power can they handle if I bi-amp them and what are the benefits or downfalls of bi-amping them?

    no downfall. benifits are more control. 125 per speaker might be too much even with the gains set to flat.

    Id go with 60-75 watts per channel.

    Yeah I will get a lower power 4 channel amp if I do bi-amp them. My question was how much rms per channel should I get? I couldn't find ratings anywhere on how much they can handle when bi-amping them.

    Now you mean 60-75 watts for each mid and each tweeter correct? So I should get an amp that is 60-75 x 4 channels? If I understand what your saying.

    I did find yesterday here on the Polk website they recommended bi-amping them with the C400.4 amp which is pushing 100 watts times 4 correct? For one they don't make this amp anymore do they and secondly do you think that would be too much power? The last thing I want to do is blow my components. I love them too much and got them for a great deal on Crutchfield.

    I have a JL 300/4 Great x-over control for bi amping and over all sound quality. I had it bi-amped to my bostons for awhile, and than changed around my system again. If your interested hit me up

    there was a Polk C400.4 Amp for sale a while back, it looks like its still available. its 75 watts x 4 @ 4ohms.

    Correct. The 400.4 was 75x4. I still think those were some of the best looking amps ever. Even like the looks of them more than the new ones but like the power of the new ones better. :D
