Im debating whether to upgrade to the RM6700's from my 6600's? Is it worth the upgrade soundwise? i posted this before but never got an answer.Im seeing more 6700 posts now so i figured I would pose the question again.

I would not upgrade to another sub/sat system from a sub/sat system. if you want a quality upgrade from the RM6600 move to four bookshelf speakers like the RTi28's and a CSi30 center channel... just my 2 cents...
    Sony KDL-40V2500 HDTV, Rotel RSX-1067 Receiver, Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray, Slim Devices Squeezebox, Polk RTi6, CSi3 & R15, DIY sub with Atlas 15

understood but I like the compactness and sound of my sub/sat system I didnt buy it as a starter system. I went from floor speakers to sats. Im not intersted in bookshelf speakers at all.
Im just seeing if anyone has heard both and can give me an opinion on whetehr the new ones sound that much better.

I'd probably just stick with the 6600.

I bought my 6700 last December. As long as the subwoofer is on, it sounds quite similar to my floor speakers. I have not listened to the 6600 but I would think that the 6700 should sound better within the frequency range of 100 to 250 hz, because it has a bass refex port.

Yes, the store I work at carries Polk. We didn't have both at the same time, so I couldn't A-B them, but I like them both. Nothing really differentiated one from the other for me, so it's probably not worth an upgrade.

I am a newbie. but I compared the 6200 to the 6600 and then the 6600 to the 6700. Just the 5 speakers no sub. I would say the 6700 was the best sounding. But I had to really listen to hear it. If I were buying the set I would not value the better sound to be more than 100 dollars or so. I ended up buying the 6200 because I got the set for 249 dollars. If you are considering upgrading the 6600 you need to at least go to the 7200 series or save your money. best of luck
