Today I received my new replacement tweets from Polk Audio. Perfect fit in my SDA2B's and sound wonderful. I totally changed my whole gear set-up and brought the SDA's into my home theater. I read on this site that 50 hours or so is the break in period, but what happens when they "break in". Do you notice it?:)

You will hear them clear up, smooth out, and be less brittle:)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

I noticed break-in in both the 194 and 198. It's a well rewarded sound so hang in there and congrats on the tweeters!

What volume level is best for break in ? Should it be varied like a new engine's RPMs and not cranked too high during the break in period???:)

Thats what I did for my 198s. First 7 hours there were very warm sounding, too much so but after 30 hours of lsitening that have brighten up and sound great. I nice upgrade over the SL2500 they replaced.

    I ordered 4 194s for my new SDA 1Cs.
Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
    Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
    Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs

    thsmith,
I like those SDA's you just got. I saw one post where somebody thought they may be a hybrid type of model..and to me that is so cool.
Looks like you and I both got the SDA bug about the same time.
I really like mine. I am ordering a new interconnect cable today from Polk.

Thanks, SDAs have been one of the worse bugs I have had in a long time but after listening to my recently aquired M12s I knew I had to get some SDAs.

You can order the SDA IC cable from Polk, Blade/Pin ?

I do not think they have the blade/pin. Mine are blade/blade and they have that in stock.

Blade/Blade ICs are available from Polk. Pin/Blade ICs can be made pretty easily, or are available from Ben. :)
