Ok, so I've been here for 2 months now. I've viewed almost everyone's system in the showcase. The general trend I've noticed is that most people don't have the speaker grille on in the photos. Not sure if they were removed just for the photo, or if people generally remove the grille and go sans grille in their day to day audio listening.

Is the general concensus:
  1. No grille because they look cool that way!!
  2. No grille because they baffle the sound...
  3. No grille because I took it off for the photo.
  4. No grille because it broke last time my significant other screamed out in pleasure and had to grab something and it happened to be your cherished speakers?
Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now....

I have a 4 year old, and had my polks when she was younger and she "never" touched them, didn't even have to say "no no" one time, she just knew better i guess, On the other hand my good friends kids have poked all the centers in on his speakers and he says to me, when he was over with the kids and they wen't near my speakers,"ah she does that to mine all the time" I said but not to mine! I leave them on for dust reasons and looks although none of my friends are really into audio like all of us and are totally impressed when i demo my gear and all the covers are off.. I know i already posted but thought i would add about the kiddies, I now have a already whew 6 month old baby girl and she to will know not to touch the speakers..

I always kept the grills on my 10B's, cause the driver material had a sticky quality to it. (Even before I became intimate with my speaker)
Now my LSI9's fly naked, cause they just look so good without the grill.

Serious listening + showing off = off

For pics when I post my rig, I want them on, but “gif” the pic so they peel off when you pass cursor over them…

Just like the chick pic har posted yesterday…
