Billy Joel Live in Seoul

Wow, what a freaking show, man. It was expensive as hell but well worth it.

I saw him about, oh, 1990ish and he put on a phenomenal show and hasn't dimished with age....he played for about 3 hours....

You know, it's sort of like Springsteen, lackluster recorded albums but flat out kick **** live. It was weird as I didn't know what to expect from the crowd, apparently Billy Joel is VERY popular because the Koreans were going batshit. I doubt they understood the songs but they knew all the freakin' words. 30K Koreans all singing words that they can't really pronounce was pretty funny. There was a whole bunch of us and we were up against the stage and the Korean Stormtroopers were dragging people out trying to get everyone to sit....he stopped mid-song and was what the hell is going on, get the eff back up here. VERY cool. It got pretty rowdy after that.

One of the coolest parts was one of his roadies (Aussie) sang Highway to Hell and BJ played guitar, it was pretty friggin' cool.

Anyway, had a great time...and it was great to hear live rock and roll.

Billy is the effin' bomb live. He did the same Highway to Hell skit here last year, and it was a riot. He gave this whole speach about his religious roadie, then busted into that track. The crowd loved it. IMHO he is one of the most under-rated artists/performers of our time.

Take the time to listen to his albums. He really didn't have any single style. He varied greatly from song to song. Plus his songs had a clear meaning. It wasn't just a bunch of cryptic BS that someone tried to pass off as meaningful.

Glad you had a good time Troy!

No, I have all of his albums, I get them.....just the recordings, especially his earlier ones....you wouldn't get, for example, how awesome Captain Jack is live if you listened to the album.

Very true! Fortunately "Songs in the Attic" righted some of those early wrongs, but not all of them.

Billy Joel and Elton John just announced last week they will tour together as co-headliners next year. They said the tix prices will be the same as if seeing just one of them. Here's your chance to see 2 legends for the price of one.

That made me feel old; I saw them together in San Jose, CA when they last toured together.

I enjoy much of Elton John's music, I'd rather see Billy and Elton concerts separately.

Same here. I saw them together a few years back, and IMO Billy was better by himself.
