Business Plans

Anybody ever write a killer business plan? I have one that I have put together in its infantile stages, but was looking for some constructive critique.

My boss and I are presenting a business plan for an expansion to our current commercial flooring company to the board the first week of December for an asset management business. If it get approved, I will move to managing this new business. I am putting together a PowerPoint presentation, but also wanted to pass out the business plan/P&L and some other pertinent info, so the Board could get their hands on tangible info while we presented.

If anyone has any free time or available to offer some advice on what I have put on paper so far, that would be greatly appreciated. I know there are some great business minds out here that would just love to help a young guy with the next step in his early career.

Thanks!

    That sounds like work !
I have to do the same shortly. The 'corporate' competition across the street is going to close shop, and this could be an opportunity to expand a bit/gain market share. . . so I hope someone here shares some brilliance. :D

I could look it over if you want, and give you some feedback.

Plans are overrated... just throw caution to the wind, and jump off the bridge.

    ;)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Just wanted to give a little update. I presented to the board of directors on Thursday morning. It ended up being about a 40 minutes powerpoint presentation.

TWO THUMBS up from every one of them! My new business is approved for funding and I start it full on 1.1.09! I am extremely excited and really really looking forward to the changes ahead in '09.

While this isn't my own business, (As in, it's going to have it's own P&L but still be under the current company I work for) I will be the business manager and fully responsible for everything from sales, marketing and margins. It's exciting, but kinda nervous too! At least my boss has taken me under his wing for complete mentorship, so I know I am not alone.

Anyways, wanted to share the exciting news. :)
