Hey guys I love this forum, and many members here. I have meet some great guys here(and gals). Some have their struggles like myself, but this thread is dedicated to my friend Joe. He has been my friend through thick and thin. I am very thankful for my Polk family. Sometimes when things are so friggen heavy I can't carry them my friends here have carried me through. I apologize if I have not mentioned my many friends who have helped me through many tough times, but Joe was there from day one. I love my brother, and I hope you pray for him, and myself.
Thanks
Ben

I really get into this time of year. Last year I was going a little nuts with the Karmas. I never have family around for thanksgiving, and Christmas is usually by myself. Instead of having a pitty party I like to get into prayer heavily. A lot of time the holidays can be real tough. One of my favorite aunts died on thanks giving so it is real tough on my cousins, and I know that others who have lost family members have a tough time without them. Anyone has any prayer requests please send them to my email, and not my PM box. Unfortunately my PM box isn't as private as it should be.
    Thanks

No one here knows about the NON-private nature of the PM box like I do.

All this time you thought private message actually meant private? HAH! It's actually Public Message, vBulletin just spelled it wrong.

Or changed the link in my sig. That one pissed me off pretty good. Someone who has the power to mod my profile sent my link to another site to mock my work. Maybe they thought they were funny, but I think it's messed up that someone with that kinda power plays games like reading PM's, and played with my link.

    Granular Security is a must.
When I admin'd the email and domain servers at my work, and all the accounts, etc, I had Full power to anything.
With that kind of power, even if you are perfectly honest and would do no harm, you will still be suspected of abusing the power. Some do.
I took the initiative to voluntarily reduce my apparent power, such as by removing my rights to access folders, etc. Of course I still had the ability to regain the rights since I still had ownership, but at least I wasn't allowed unfettered access without some kind of hurdle to jump. Regaining my rights would result in security log entries so I could prove my honesty without a doubt if ever confronted.
To further the effort, for my finance folks, I trained them to use PGP encryption, now no matter what rights I have or any of the other thousands of admins there may be in my company, they will know and control exactly who has rights to the information.

I used to do stuff like that-change the display name on somebody's phone to match the joke of the day or something, but it was all in harmless jest and everybody knew that I did it, so it wasn't done under cloak or mal-intent.
