I am running XLR cables from my TGP processor 5 to my TG 7 amp for my 6 channels. Will I get the full balanced effect w/o a balanced cable run to my SVS pb/2 ?
And I mean calling all cars, blackhawk down, mushroom cloud, Three Mile Island, lock the door behind you kind of mad.

Unless your amp was designed for balanced wiring, it won't make a difference what kind of signal you run to it. IMO, as long as it's getting a signal and you're getting sound out of it, success.

I was under the impression that all speakers connected through the system had to be balanced in order to lower the noise floor, but I am wondering if the sub would be excluded because its power supply is isolated. The SVS pb 12 /2 is wired to run xlr cables.

Are you getting any problems with extra noise or humming or buzzing? Balanced connections have their place, but most home audio applications really don't need them...

+1 A lot of the Balanced amps don't even use the V- signal;)

I was getting noise and feed back from the analog cd input. I am using it for my Ipod. I was going to upgrade to silver interconnects anway, so I went with the bettercables.com silver serpent II since they were on sale. I balanced out all 6 channels not including the sub, and it killed the noise.
