XPS-2 with Rti 10s

Does anyone have experience using an XPA-2 with Rti 10's? Is it overkill? I figure adding an XPA-2 would give me great 2-channel and lighten the load on the Onk for other three channels. Should I keep my money for future upgrade?

No, buy the amp. then get new speakers. Then replace the Onkyo with a 2 channel pre with an HT bypass if you still want HT.

There's no such reality called, "overkill" regarding amps.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Agreed with EB, get the amp. But once you discover the difference the XPA2 makes you will want to discover if it will make a difference with the other 3 channels. So get the XPA5 and be done with that particular upgrade once & for all.

Cfrizz,
I've read great things about the XPA-5 (and 3). The problem is that some people claim the XPA-2 sounds better than the XPA-5, despite a similar wpc rating when driving two-channels. I'm more concerned with the two-channel since my HT sound is already pretty darn good. The Onk is quite potent for an AVR, so I thought it would be capable of handling the Center and surrounds.
On the other hand, if the sound from the XPA-5 is pretty close to the XPA-2, then I might as well have the flexibility of five channels. Decisions decisions.... I guess there are much worst problems to have than trying to decide on an amp!MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370

You might get more info about that on the Emotiva forum.

I've been reading some of those threads. However, I was hoping to get the opinion of those who are pushing the same speakers. Most of the threads I saw were from Lsi owners, or other manufacturers.MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370

Yep, it's true. The XPA-2 sounds better than the XPA-5, so what are you waiting for? I ran my XPA-5 with the RTi8s, CSi5, and FXi3s when I still had them and they sound fantastic. I haven't heard XPA-2 yet but the -5 truly opened up those speakers. I was running them off a Harman Kardon receiver and the difference is astounding. If your priority is HT then it's a no-brainer. Get XPA-5 and you won't look back, especially with their x-mas sale coming up this weekend ($100 off and free shipping!)

Iskandam, I don't see anything about X-mas sale on their website? But if that's true, then it is a done deal.
Early/Curved, I'm getting there. Just trying to make the right decision.MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370
