sda 2 speakers

i am wanting to purchase a pair of polks finest vintage speakers. need some advice from on a pair sda 2. good price? and what i would need to drive them. i miss the 70's stereo craz.

Hi wrench, I don't know too much about SDAs (yet) but I 'm told that
the SDA2Bs are the best ones for upgrades and are much better than the earlier 2s . I paid around $160 for some 2Bs that I found on ebay that were local and sold as pick up only. I am going to upgrade them eventually with Polk replacement tweeters and a re-work of the crossovers, kindly performed for me by a long standing member of this forum. Also mine are vinyl covered so I am going to apply some real wood veneer to the cases too. They sound pretty good as is, and I am anxious to hear how they sound after they're all done. If you do get some, try to make sure that the cable that runs between the two speakers is included, they need that to operate properly,if not you can substitute something else, or depending on which type, you might be able to order one from Polk's sales dept. I have a pair of 2Bs and love them.I even made a custon IC cable for mine with DH labs T14 speaker cable.!50.00 to 300.00 is a good price depending on the condition.I replaced all the mid drivers in mine too.
