I'd be careful with negative comments towards previous employers. Your name is on here, and a simple Google search by a future employer could turn this post up.

I feel for you bro. It is not fun out there at all. Shoot me an email if you need to vent.
    Ben
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

If the name in your sig is your name-You might want to take it out of your sig. that will remove it from the first post now that you're 2 minutes past being able to edit the post.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good Luck.

for the time being.. check into working for a temp agency.. it's only temp of course. but it may open up a full time position that you may not know about. my good friend temped for 3 months before hired full time with full benefits by the same company. so it can happen.

Companies are always looking fo temp employees. If nothing else.. a good solid job to have is a night time grocery stocker. They are always hiring for those positions in my area.

Sorry you lost you job bro.

    best of luck!

Great advice...worked for me as well...when they closed the fab I had worked at for almost 15 years I put my resume on monster.com. Then a temp agency called me and said they had a job interview for me after seeing my posted resume...I was thinking great...prob gonna be some really low paying scrap fab.

They only gave me an address, so I had no idea what company I was interviewing at...ended up being Intel ...and I got the job....so sign up NOW for a temp agency...it can really work.

    Good Luck !

Seems to be a common theme for this year. Hiring freeze.
Pay freeze. Workforce reductions. Companies DOA.
I'm about ready to go back to farming. At least it's
just mother nature **** you there.

Frank, I might assume that you have some basic plumbing skills working for a sprinkler installation company (assuming you're in the field); possibly some electrical, too ?

If so, you can ALWAYS get a job in maintenance in any berg in the USA. Some pay more, some pay less, but they all pay enough to feed the bulldog.

    Hotels/motels/convention centers/schools/churches are always looking.

Good luck, and it's all good if you let it.

    :)

I take it your not a member of the sprinklerfitters local? Damn, have you tried any other mechanical construction outfits? With your skillset, you could probably get work as a pipefitter. Same principle, different joinery. How about plumbing?
