Snipped my polyswitches

Decided last night to open up my SDA 2's. I hadn't really given the crossovers a good lookover since I purchased them, and the previous owner had rebuilt them. A separate thread will be started soon about the quality of the rebuild.
Anyway, while I was poking around, my eye caught those darn polyswitches. Having just recently read so much about the improvement in sound by eliminating them, I decided to go ahead with it. Rather than removing the crossover from the cabinet, I decided to do everything in-place. It was a little crowded, but the 12" passive radiator hole gives more than enough room to get my arms in there.
Snip, solder, screw it back together.
Sound difference? You bet. I have yet to determine whether it is better or not. Keep in mind, I've got 4 sl2000 tweeters squawking in my face, completely unrestrained now. There definately is more detail, but on the sl2000's, it could be just a bit to much. I didn't get a chance to listen to much music, as it was about midnight 'til I finished the modification, and I had work in the morning and all. But I was up 'til around 1 listening to different passages that I'm familiar with. I was picking up detail I hadn't heard before, even in familiar songs.
Next thing I'm going to try, maybe tonight, is to disconnect the dimensional tweeter in each speaker to try to tone the highs down a little. I've been told that this model actually sounds better with only one tweeter running per cab.

Don't forget to let the jumper burn in.

I think they're pretty well burnt in already . I was able to use the snipped poly leads on 3 of the 4. The 4th, I had to use a short piece of wire.
Let's just hope I don't "burn in" my sl2000's now. They're not known for their reliability to begin with. Granted I've never tripped the polys before, even when I was driving them with a receiver. That's why I felt comfortable eliminating them.
Plus, come thursday, I'll be going from a gfa-535 to a 545, which'll get a little more power to them.Ludicrous gibs! -
I think you will really enjoy the 545. Its a great amp, and if you disconnect them dim tweeter I think you will be pleasantly surprised. You may have to replace one of the resistors one the stereo tweeter to bring it back up. I did.

Could I just disconnect the dim tweeter and add the resistor between those leads? Would save me having to solder on the board, not that it's a huge deal.Ludicrous gibs!

You have to lower the resistance before the actual XO.
Edit: There is a 3.5r in parallel with a .5uf, and 750pf caps. Snip out both caps, and replace the 3.5r with a 2.7r to 2.5r. This will even thing out;)Please.
