I would suggest you get her something she has mentioned during conversation. That way when she opens it she will see that you are a good listener and thoughtful at the same time. Or you could always get her a few of her favorite cds, that way she wins and so do you.......listening to your system.

This is why guys should go shopping no matter how much they hate it. Girls drop subtle hints all the time and sometimes they aren't dropping a subtle hint at all and just see something they like but pass on it due to cost. Remember what it was, where you saw it and the next day, go get it. You take the risk of her getting it herself in the near future but that's a risk you gotta take.

Women are easy to shop for if you pay attention.

You said that she's your "new" girlfriend. I'm with the rest of the boys here who suggest that, as you simply get to know her - & listen to her - you'll make some discoveries that will point you in the right direction.

    Easy.

    Or video......

I would listen to her rather than us (as already mentioned). But with that being said.....

Don't forget stuff you can do together - A nice dinner out (the price limit only has to cover her portion not the entire check) or tickets to a show she would like (theater, concert or someplace fun for new years eve - not just a movie). Could also be as basic as music she likes, her favorite movie on DVD, a book she may enjoy, a coupon for a trip to a day spa, massage (professional - not the 5min if I do this, can I get some), etc.......

There are lots of options, just depends on what she is into...

    Good luck in your search.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)
