While I may have been late in posting this (sorry, I can't hang out on the Polk Forums constantly, I have these silly things called responsibilities) I do have to say that my miDock was a lifesaver on a recent trip to San Fran.

Due to the rather liberal...well, socialist leaning residents of The Peoples Socialist Republic of California, I found myself in a rather odd position. With the rather pre-mature celebration of an Obama win and the needless and childish taunting of people who criticized the previous administration of the same childish behavior permeating the atmosphere it was on the hostile side. Then, later in the week, the obnoxious celebrations and further taunting of the losers left something to be desired in the social life for those of us who left high school decades ago. Add on top of that the pseudo-riots and fist fights in the streets over the **** marriage rights and I felt increasingly compelled to while away my time viewing the activities on the news in the relative safety of my hotel room.

Well that wore thin quickly and I decided to find a video rental store to view some movies. I had thought ahead to the miDock I was given at Polkfest as a party favor of sorts and threw it in my bag while I was packing along with a stereo to stereo mini-plug cable. How fortuitous was my decision! The laptop speakers are inherently lacking. The miDock is not a grand cinematic experience either but it provided much more sonic impact and dynamics than any laptop speaker ever could (aside from the Sony Vaio portable media center pile of poo that was out a few years ago with the built in subwoofer).

Well, the miDock Portfolio was made for portability and travel and it worked swimmingly! I plugged my laptop right in and watch several movies and a few downloaded TV shows without having to hover over my computer and strain to hear anything. I set it up on the desk with the 15" wide screen monitor on the laptop and sat in the easy chair on the other side of the smallish hotel room and watched my selected programming in comfort!

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first of such a wee thing but for what I needed it for, it exceeded my expectations. For music, it was lacking at the high end noticeably but overall, for what it is, it was more than adequate for my needs. I was going to give it to my girl for her iPod but after last week, she can get her own! This one's mine and I ain't gonna buy no iPod to jam in it either!

No bitter pill at all. I don't really like Obama but I don't think it's the end of the world. It's gonna be a drag in my opinion but what can I do? My opinions of California as a whole are not all that great and stem from many, many previous experiences there prior to my recent trip to San Francisco. That doesn't go for everyone there because there are some cool people there. Most of the people I've encountered from that state are very much off their rockers in my experience.

What bothered me more was the hypocrisy with which people were operating there and the obnoxiousness of it all. And I don't know if you've ever been in a riot of **** people but contrary to popular belief, one thing it is not is "faaaaabulouuuuus!" But a fist fight in the middle of the street between two effeminate **** men is quite entertaining! Until the police break it up that is.
