Which subwoofer would pair well with the polk 360 home theater setup?

It only a 11 X 12 room, used mostly for movies.

There really is a lot of choices and I am looking for clean bass, does not have to blow out the windows, make the walls crumble etc.

Thanks!

Hello Harborbreeze. I think that any of the new Polk DSW series subs will do a good job.

I heard a couple of them a few weeks ago & they were outstanding. Pick one that has the features that you want it to have & enjoy.

Were you talking about the Pro or the MicroPro series? I'm suspecting the MicroPro series.

You don't have to match a specific sub with a set of speakers, you just get what you want for what you can afford. Timber matching is really most important on the L, R and center.

I think It really depends on whether your using it for HT or 2 channel music or a compromise for both and also the size of your room to determine the right sub.

I haven't heard one yet but Frys has a Black PSW1000 for $400

We were able to hear the DSW Pro series at Polkfest and I am now convinced that Polk has started building quality subs (not something I would have said a couple of years ago). I think the 400 would be a good choice for the application harborbreeze has described.

Amazon has the DSW Pro 400 for a decent price:

I've read a lot of the comments about the DSW Micro Pro at PF, was the DSW Pro 400 also demo'd and raved about?

I don't know if "raved" is an acurate description...but it was very good. It was part of the demo with one of the RM systems and was the "high point" of the demo. The speakers were not something I would purchase...but the sub was.

I have never heard the PSW 1000. At $400 dollars that is a killer deal (33% of MSRP). I do know the DSW technology as far as distortion supression and the room optimizer is pretty cool and something worth considering.

My feelings are the same as Shack. I have never considered upgrading my sub, I'm thinking about it now because of what I heard at PF2008! Add in the remote & the calibration features & you've got a winner.

The PSW 111 is a great choice. Inexpensive, small and blends very well with the SB360.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
    Yes,
More sub than I will ever need. Nice and clean.
The 360 soundbar though was a major disappointment and a waste of money though. And I bought it when it was a grand, now I see it at $399 which is pretty much all its worth...
