RTi6 or RTi A5
Would there be much of a sound difference moving from RTi6s to RTi A5s? I currently have the 6s as my mains with a sub (upgrading that very soon) and would be the same setup if I got the A5s. Also do the RTi A series sound ok when using the CSi5 center?

The RTiA5 would compare more directly to the RTi8 - the RTi6 is similar to the RTiA3Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

Major differance in overall sound and loudness in general.
The rti6 will be a nice midrange/highs speaker where as the rti a5's can produce some very nice bass once you power em up. Not very good comparison between the two as said just above.Living Room Rig:D

Mostly I'm looking to see if the RTi A5 would be a major upgrade over the RTi6 that I currently have.Yamaha RX-V661

It will be a slight upgrade.....not a big one though. Going to the RTiA7 would be a considerable upgrade.Living Room:....................

Zone 2 (Workout Room):

Would the RTiA7 still be a considerable upgrade if I'm not able to add an amp with it? The Yamaha 661 I'm using now doesn't seem to be all that powerful. I'm trying to plot out my upgrade path. First is a new sub but after that I'm thinking either an amp or speakers. Would the RTi6s I have benefit from more power by adding an amp or should I wait until I get new speakers like either the RTiA5s or A7s that would benefit more?Yamaha RX-V661

IMO the RTI a5's is a big upgrade from the rti 6's. I have the RTI a 3's and it's a big difference. I'm not a big fan of the RTI a7's because it lacks the midrange you get with the RTI a5's and 9's.
I've had all RTI floorstanding speakers 5,7,and 9's and I kept the 5's and 9's. I think for the price the 5's and a decent sub sounds better than both bigger brothers.
Also the RTI A5's are VERY easy to push. A amp isn't needed but it certainly helps if your budget allows for one.
