Just getting into 2-channel stuff. Bought these locally for $200 in great condition and they came with the original IC cable and the owners manual. Seems they were updated with the internal tweeter protection circuit. I have a yamaha M-4 amp coming and am looking for a pre-amp. I hooked them up to a 7070 Sansui i have and they sounded great !!! can't wait to get 125 watts through them.

Great resources you all have here !!

Yeah, I questioned that tape job, but they looked so go to be in great shape otherwise. So the black was done by the owner....mmmm...did a good job from what i can tell. Looks like maybe I have a project ahead, or should i just leave them alone ? They look great with the grills on:)

If they look good with the grills, then just leave them like that and enjoy the music. Don't pay attention to anyone who says that the paint job affects the sound...

yeah..i guess it really is about the sound, but feel a little stupid to not realize Polk wouldn't let that leave the factory with that tape job. I'll look at them closer when i get home and see if i just touch up the front how they'll look. I did get to listen to them before i bought them and i might have been just a little "colored" by the sweet sound coming out ...:D

All that matters is the sound and if the drivers are in good shape, etc. Probably more trouble than it's worth to "restore" to original finish but if you good with that kind of stuff..........

My comment was solely based on the pic of the front view with the half black, half original color on the front edges.
