New DIY Tube Amp!

I've started designing a new tube amp that uses the Eimac 4CX20000A. It's a ceramic/metal power tetrode tube that could produce enormous amounts of power in a class A configuration. If you read through the specs, you might see a few of the design issues I'm running into; the least of which is the requirement of forced induction cooling... :p

Well it's the right time of year:)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

    Induction cooling?

Nevermind, started reading and realized the tube needs forced air cooling. Convection, not induction.

    Audio Frequency Voltage=10Kv? Max Temp=250c?

Maybe you can heat the house with it. ;^)

Or start your own national radio station?

Or a laser to shoot ICBM's out of the sky?

Good Luck and warn us before flippin the power switch on. JK

    Paul

Ceramic metal, oxide, silicone R's seems to becoming a trend in vac amps.

Damn. Looks like what we used to use for vhf/uhf transmitters.
You won't be able to hear over the cooling fans.

That's not a problem; simply wire it into your garage & run I/Cs & speaker cables from there into the house! That way, you can take advantage of the winter cold to help with the heat issue....

Hell, hook up a 48" fan in the attic & draw it all through a 6" tube & you could have some hellacious airspeeds flowing over those babies....

It has a current draw of 140A max at full voltage! And the voltage is so high in the tube that when it arcs, it creates X-Rays; could be a problem I guess...

If you have a million $ R&D budget you might be able to come up with something usable.;)It's not quite plug and play like an EL34 or 6L6.:D

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Think of the benefits! You can do your own radiology; save on all those copays when the kids break an ankle or wrist!

Screw your chest! How about contently being bombarded by ionizing radiation while in your listening room! :D Makes me feel warm all over...

Hey, Jake. If the project doesn't work out, you can put that baby on 20 meters...hi. Either way, you will have to push a lot of air through that baby. That will be noisey. Put the amp in the garage in the summer and inside for winter. It will heat up your listening area nicely:)
