Just another day on the job for me, but thought some might find todays work interesting. We captured a wolverine and attached a GPS collar for tracking the animal. It was a 19 pound female, maybe 6 or 7 years old. Gorgeous animal. See attached photo.

There are a lot of people I'd like to stick in a phone booth with one of those.

I thought boom operator was kind of a freaky job. You got the title man.

That would be ugly. Pound for pound they are the most verocious animals. The one we collared today came out of the drugs while i was holding its head and it nearly took my fingers with it!

I have heard black bears will retreat when confronted by one.The closest thing we have to that is the Fisher which is a nasty little animal but too small to be a threat to anything bigger than a cat.

We have badgers here, and from what I've heard you really don't want to have an issue with one.

You drugged it? Pfft. I wouldn't have bothered, instead I'd stare the damn thing down 'til it quivered at my feet. No radio collar would have been necessary, it would have called me every 30 minutes to report it's location, purely out of fear.

funny story, well, at least I think it is funny--

My office manager is not very computer savvy, to put it nicely, and furthermore, very paranoid when using the computer, scared she is going to screw something up. So a couple of years ago, for April Fool's Day, I knew she would be the first one at the office, I set it up so that when she clicked on the desktop icon to clock in, instead of going to our timeclock software, it would start that clip. I had the volume turned all the way up at first, but then I thought better of it and turned it down some, or I might have given her a heart attack!

I got the call at home about 8:30 that morning, "I don't know what I did, but..." and I could hear the thing going in the background, and I couldn't stand it and started cracking up, and that's when she figured out what I had done. I can't think of it without laughing out loud. You have to know my office manager to really grasp how funny it is.:D:D
