what's the DEFINITIVE answer whether the 3000 is better than the 2000 or not??? i read conflicting reports all over the net. my boys have outgrown their nintendo ds's (i knew that'd happen real quick) and now want these. of course, yours truely sorta wants one as well.

anyway, i'd much prefer to hear from those who may own BOTH units. no need to compare the 1st gen psp 1000, either. anyway, anyone out there with the answers i NEED? it'll be for christmas gifts. thanks in advance!

What's a PSP 2000? You mean a PSP vs the PSP Slimline? If they have number related names, that's new to me.

I prefer the older PSP because my hands are normal, human adult sized. The newer version makes my hands cramp up even worse than the older one.

psp 1000 is what you have mark. the slim is the 2000 and the newest, the 3rd gen is the 3000. the 3000 supposedly does away with the 'ghosting' effect the 2000 is plagued with at the expense of issues with interlacing...

i was just wondering if anyone had the newest psp 3000 and if the interlacing issue was all that bad. reviews state that the improved screen contrast and what not are notedly better than the previous slim/2000 and also adds a microphone.

being that i may bust out for 3 of these, i wanna know what people think is the best version to go with. the 2000 or the 3k.

YEAH. from what i gather, if you got the 1000 or none at all, it's worth the upgrade. if you already have the 2000, stick with it. that's from the reviews i read online.

The madden version is the 2000.

3000 arrays the RGB pixels in a different order. Its much brighter and has better contrast, but at times can cause extra aliasing as result of the different design.

PSP 2000 looks fantastic to me. I'd rather have a 3000, but thats because the screenshots I have seen showing it to be inferior have only been on a few lower-res games.

I have one of the 1000's that I hacked and luv it. But in doing so (hacking) I ended up with the stuff to hack all three versions, that way if my 1000 ever takes a crap on me I can always transfer all my old NES games over to the new one. Man I luv playing old 8bit games!
As for your kids they will luv you no matter which one you get them.
