Looking for a 2 channel pre with phono stage....

Hello,

I'm in the market for a preamp and am coming up empty handed on a few auctions. Specifically, I'd like a solid state, 2 channel pre with a phono stage. Tone controls and/or remote are optional perks. Relaibility is the most important element right now.

I'm open to both suggestions and offers in the $250 +/- range.

They are somewhat rare, but you might be able to find one in that range....check out the Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamplifier. It's a sleeper.

You might want to look for an Adcom GFP 565,, they have a pretty good onboard phono,,good luck.

I'm looking to mate that 535 to something. Two 565's have eluded me this week in acutions because they were a bit out of my proce range. Seems everyone wants them!

Have you had any experience with the GFP 555?

Yep,, had a GFP 555,, but from what I understand,, the 565 has a much better phono,, unlike me,, be patient,, keep checking craigslist,,something should pop up in your area,,in other words,,given a choice between the two,, 565 anyday. Good luck.

I can highly recommend a NAD C160. Good pre with a nice phono section. Here is one a little above your price...but he might deal.
