Can the mesh covers for the 8" woofers on the sides of the LSi15's be removed? I just wanted to visibly inspect the driver and it didn't appear that they are easily removable, and I was afraid to break out the tools and risk damaging the wood panels.

They can. Take your time. I have watched the owner of a pair do them. Use a couple of prying tools to work them loose.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Do NOT pry them off from the bottom or top edges... you can easily chip the veneer finish. Pry them off from the left or right sides.... I learned the hard way.
