Hi, I have a question. Below is a picture of a crossover from a RTA12B dated April of 1984. It came with the siver faced SL1000 tweeter. Does anyone have this same crossover (not just the board color but also the caps) that came with the american made black Peerless tweeter (no5514).
It seems to me that there was a change in tweeters Peerless to SL1000) late 83 early 84 but the crossover remained the same. Just trying verify this. So if anyone has a crossover that looks just like this but came with the black Perrless that would help.
I know they did not change the crossover when they switched from the SL1000 to the SL2000 (arond 86) and they sound different as I have compared them.
It appears they swirched tweeters 3 times between late 83 and 86 but did not change croosover. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, keith

Pretty simple really. I want to know if this exact croosover came with both the siver faced SL 1000 and the black American made Peerless.(5514) on the magnet. I know it came with the SL1000 and SL2000 for that matter.
There may have been a period in lat 83 to early 84 were they just switched tweeters and kept the same crossover. They sound different. I have had three pairs of RTA12 and 12Bs with three different croosovers and 4 different tweeters. and all sound different

You may have trouble finding out that kind of detailed information. Maybe Polk customer service can shed alittle light or maybe one of the superstars here have access to that info.
I would try out as many tweeters as I can till I find what sounds great to me. And or maybe some of the experts here can direct you further. Is there a tweeter/ x-over combo you like best? Maybe there is a way to modify the x-over to match it perfectly to the tweeter you perfer.
Just throwing out a idea or two to you.

I have 12Bs with the black Peerless tweets and the boards (caps) are not quite the same. If you PM me your email address, I will send you a clean jpg photo that I just took. Being new to your site, I haven't figured out how to attach a photo yet.
