For anybody who is a user of the IR2BT device that has a unit number of under 1400 (written on bottom of unit), you probably have experienced problems (namely with powering on the PS3).
They are once again offering a FREE update to fix the problem on the early units for anybody who missed the opportunity in the Summer. Here is a link to the info:

This guy should run seminars on how customer service should work.

They should have sent an email to all affected. I didn't know there was a free update.

5 bucks plus shipping to them? That's nothing anyways. I'll skip McDonalds lunch for a day! :)

i don't remember if it was free or not first go around. i'm just glad they got it going again for lazy folks such as myself. i'd have been pissed if it was a limited time deal. i also would have lost all respect for the product and its creator. i should probably go fetch mine from my system right now before i forget again. but i'm a procrastinator so i probably won't. then i have only myself to blame.

this just pissed me off. $5 for the update and then another $4.80 for return shipping. $9.80 was enough for me to leave a very negative comment in the comment section for the invoice.

edit: fu**. i was so pissed i forgot to enter my stupid **** serial number in the comments section which will supposedly 'delay' turn-around time.

the first time i KNOW it was free return shipping. Probably costs more for the lazy! (ie me!!)

EDIT: ya, after reading through the forums, It looks like the first time around was no charge and free return shipping. All it cost you was to ship it to them.
